Featured Venue: The Foundry

The Foundry, located in Long Island City is one of our most favorite venues for a slew of reasons- but at the top of the list is the space’s adaptability. Within The Foundry are five customizable spaces- the main hall, the courtyard, the terrace, the greenhouse and the pool room. For every wedding we’ve coordinated, we’ve used each space differently- And we LOVE that that originality!

REAL WEDDING: Alanna + Blaine at Salvage One in Chicago

All this winter weather has me feeling sentimental over Alanna and Blaine’s wedding last December in Chicago! These two were the absolute sweetest and their love warmed up the chilly winter day! Not to mention they got married in one of the coolest spots in Chicago- Salvage One, an architectural salvage store where you use the antique tables and chairs as your seating!

1980's Wedding Trends Are Back!

In an article recently, The New York Times compared this year’s weddings to those of the 1980’s. And not just 2022’s record number of weddings, rivalling that of 1984 (experts are expecting 2.5 million - WOWZA!), but also in trend. The 80’s are making a comeback! We thought it would be fun to see how our own clients are embracing these gorgeous trends. Check it out:

Wedding Inspiration: Disco Balls!

To me, nothing says, “let’s get together and party” quite like the disco ball! Light magically reflects off the disco ball, spinning and sparkling about the room. It’s a classic 70s party trick that constantly “wows” guests on the dance floor. From their incredible dance floor potential to Ivy Getty’s wedding dress, disco balls are the wedding trend of the moment! We are thrilled that our clients have incorporated disco balls into their weddings in the most fun and creative ways! Check them out below:

REAL WEDDING: Kimberly + Daniel at TWA Hotel

A designer and an architect, Kimberly and Daniel were drawn to architect Eero Saarinen’s landmark 1962 TWA Flight Center for their June wedding at the TWA Hotel. Along with the fantastical architecture and 60’s vibes of TWA, Kimberly showcased her design skills with hand drawn sketches of the floral design (brought to life by Florist Hills) and her jaw-droppingly beautiful cape.

REAL WEDDING: Abigail and David at Saint Elle

This past spring, architect and all-around-great gal, Abigail married David in a celebration that was sleek and stylish. We hope to see more designs like this emulated in 2022! These two weren't afraid of color, steering from the traditional (yes! Let's add cut fruit to the centerpieces!), custom built furniture, and flipping the traditional layout of the venue on it's head! (They utilized the traditional Ceremony space for Dinner, and the traditional Dinner space for Cocktails! Get it!). We love these two and their creative minds! 2022 goals y'all!

Featured Vendor: The Green Building

When we first started wedding planning, one of our very first “Non-Friend” clients held their wedding at The Green Building. Little did we know at the time that this wedding would be written up in The New York Times, have one of the most memorable last-minute logistical somersaults ever and sky rocket our business! Since that wedding, we have been grateful to come back to The Green Building many many times and it’s still one of our most favorite venues in Brooklyn.
