1980's Wedding Trends Are Back!

In an article recently, The New York Times compared this year’s weddings to those of the 1980’s. And not just 2022’s record number of weddings, rivalling that of 1984 (experts are expecting 2.5 million - WOWZA!), but also in trend. The 80’s are making a comeback! We thought it would be fun to see how our own clients are embracing these gorgeous trends. Check it out:

The Epic Dress

Guess what?! The iconic bridal gowns of the 1980’s are back! Puffy sleeves, big bows, full ball gowns and/or regal lace! They’re truly never looked better!

Cakes as Art Pieces

The NYTimes referred to these beauties as “cakes that demand attention.” Whether it’s multiple tiers, edible art, or a creative design - these are sure to stand out!

A Focus on Many, Many Flowers

This trend really speaks to me! I can’t get enough of an elaborate floral design. From large ceremony altar pieces or chuppahs that wow guests upon arrival. To stunning tablescapes with layers of flowers. Or even getting married in a venue that offers lush greenery and gardens!

Videography

Couples are choosing to add videographers to their list of vendors to capture all the special moments of their day to watch again and again. A far way from camcorders indeed!

Just a few of our favorite videographers include (in New York) Reel Feels Productions and NST and (in Nashville) Peerless Weddings and Full Frame Cinema.
