Introduce yourself:
My name is Lauren Roth. I manage weddings in NYC. I also manage special events at Madison Square Garden as well as at MSG's other venues: Radio City Music Hall, The Beacon Theater, The Hulu Theater at MSG, and the Chicago Theater (Illinois). Mom to boy and dog, Muppet stan, and low-amateur baker.

What's your hometown?

New Milford, NJ (just on the other side of the Hudson River from NYC)

What was the path that led you to The Get Together Events?

Well, as they say, I'm not just a TGT Manager....I'm also a client! I was one of Lauren S.'s first brides and have been with the company since it's infancy. Lauren S. and I share a love of putting on a good show (we're theater kids, after all) and event planning---it was kismet!

What excites you about weddings?

I always enjoy speeches. A really engaging, funny, and/or heartfelt speech always gets me!

What is the most useful item in your supply kit?

Bobby pins, baby! Got to keep all those fancy hair-dos lookin' good in all the elements.

What's your favorite dance floor song?
"Hava Nagila", because nothing beats a good horah! (Also, shout out to that one band that played "Shakedown Street" by The Grateful Dead that one time!)

Where can we find you the day after a wedding?
Weddings are marathons (seriously, my step counts on wedding days are usually through the roof), so I often try to sleep-in as late as possible the next morning and rest/recuperate my bod for the rest of the day while wearing soft pants.

What is a great compliment you’ve received?
One bride, whose family and friends were really finding a ton of use out of several items in my pack kit, called me "Mary Poppins! I took that as a high compliment, because Mary Poppins is "practically perfect in every way"!

What do you love to do on weekends when you're not working?

Spending time with my lil' toddler son....essentially practicing how best to wrangle unruly ring bearers/ flower girls!
Any recent cause for celebration?

Um, surviving a global pandemic with minimal surface damage comes to mind most immediately.

What’s an accomplishment you are most proud of?

When I am not overseeing events for TGTE or at my other gig at Madison Square Garden, I am the Managing Director of a theater company called OUR BAR that presents monthly, original, site-specific theater in....you guessed it, a bar! Currently in our 13th season, OUR BAR is often described as a month’s worth of bar antics artfully shoved into one hour, and like any great night out on the town, each show is unique. We perform on the first Wednesday of every month, and the material you see at OUR BAR lives and dies in one night! Check us out at www.ourbarnyc.com.

Favorite TV show you binged?

I literally cannot get enough of RuPaul's Drag Race!

Any advice for future clients?

Try really REALLY hard to soak it all in during the days leading up and the day of the wedding---easier said than done with so many moving parts, I know! But that is why TGT is on board---to help clear your plate so you can focus on being present and care-free on your big day!
